The Teddy Awards
Created to recognize outstanding achievement in the Speech/Drama Department, the Teddy Awards were named for—and are now in honor of—the team's original mascot, a stuffed teddy bear.
Teddy was bear-napped by a rival team (we know who you are) in 1991 and was never recovered.
His successor—acquired from the same toy store as Teddy—was named Teddy II, or “Twoey.”
Teddy is gone from his balcony seat in the MHS auditorium, but he will never be gone from our hearts.
