PAUL SPARKS

Paul was the first big Marlow speech star.  He set the high mark of four State Championship medals.  Paul's talent, ambition, and love of performing have taken him far.  He went on to graduate from New York University and is now using his acting talents in New York City.  He has been seen on the daytime drama "Guiding Light," the NBC series "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

Paul's performance as Death Row inmate Bobby Reyburn in the Off-Broadway production of Coyote on a Fence earned him rave reviews and a 2000 Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Play.  He received his second Drama Desk Award nomination for the 2004 New York premiere of Adam Rapp's "Blackbird," and his third for "Orange Flower Water" in 2005.   2007 and 2011 brought the fourth and fifth nominations with "Essential Self-Defense" and  "Dusk Rings a Bell."

Paul's other work has included the world premiere of "Blackbird" in London, Arthur Miller's "The Creation of the World and Other Business", the one-man play "Circumference of a Squirrel", Sam Shepard's "The Late Henry Moss" at the Contemporary American Theatre Festival, the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of "Bug," by Tracy Letts, and Adam Rapp's "Finer Noble Gases."  Paul was a member of the Broadway cast of the 2003 Tony Award-winning Best Play, "Take Me Out."  In January 2009, Paul had third billing in the Broadway production of "Hedda Gabler."

When the series "Boardwalk Empire" premeired in 2010, Paul began his 36 episodes as Mickey Doyle.  In this role, he won 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series (2010, 2011), along with 5 nominations in the same category (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016).  In 2013, Paul won Film Independent Spirit Robert Altman Award for "Mud".  2016 brought two nominations:  Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Guest Actor for "House of Cards" and the Lucile Lortel Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play for "Buried Child".
